Dues? Paid.

Our open mic performance at the Narrows Center for the Arts in Fall River could not be called a rousing success, by any stretch of the imagination, but it still was not without value. I’m glad we went, if only because it will make a great story in our inevitable “Behind the Music” episode.

The open mic was due to start at 7:00 but the first performance didn’t really get underway until 8:00 or so. We were the 10th act to perform, so I’m sure you can imagine that we were no longer at our perkiest by the time we took the stage at roughly 11:45. Sadly, neither was the audience, but the two people who were still there and listening insisted that it wasn’t as bad as I thought.

It was mostly disappointing because I don’t think we were at our best, and since it was so late we didn’t really get to perform before a new crowd of people. We’ll definitely give the Narrows another shot, though, since we’ve heard such good things about it. It’s all rock ‘n’ roll, man.

That was probably our last public performance of 2005, but brace yourselves for a musical onslaught in 2006.

Happy holidays!

December 14, 7:00 PM: The Narrows Center for the Arts

Check out Tracie and Matt’s first gig with an actual band name!

The Narrows Center for the Arts in Fall River has an open mic most Wednesdays at 7:00, and this week we’re going to tear the place up.

Yes, it’s in Fall River, and yes, there’s a $3 cover, but aren’t we worth it? (Yes, we are.)
